To get started place small pieces of wood close to the wall. This allows the wall to heat up fast - becoming smoke free as soon as possible.
If possible use a gas "firestick", this makes it nearly completely smokefree from the get go.
Once the walls have heated up and time comes to add wood, add around the walls as this heats up the walls and burns cleaner.
Cooking on the fire can be done using any grid, pot or pan. Wait till the fire is cooler or cook on open flames.
